Rotary goes contactless

The Rotary Club of Bolsover has embraced technology with the introduction of contactless donations. In readiness for the main fund raising season around Christmas, the Club has partnered with Goodbox to provide an option for donors to support Rotary’s charity work without using cash.

Donors will be able to “Tap to Give” by using credit or debit cards, ApplePay or GooglePay, as an alternative to carrying small change to put in collection boxes.

Rotary President David Coupe said, “This is a major step forward for our fund-raising activities. The generosity of people in our local area enables us to continue the work that we do in the Bolsover area, and abroad. We support local groups with our Community Grants scheme, and a range of other charitable giving.”

He went on to say, “the incidence of people not carrying cash has increased over the last couple of years and employing Goodbox will help us to address that.”

The Club is very grateful to Mintdale Engineering Ltd who have very kindly sponsored the purchase of the Goodbox equipment.
