Largest Christmas Festival EVER!
Thousands of people were in Bolsover to see Santa lead a fantastic Lantern Parade as a part of the Christmas Festival. Members of the Rotary Club were present all day to assist Santa with his sleigh, collect donations, and help out with exuberant and excited children.
The lanterneers made their own lanterns ranging from a huge Rudolph, polar bears, a yellow submarine, that needed four carriers, and hundreds of smaller lights carried by happy children. All money collected by the club in the Christmas period goes to local charities and good causes.
Chris Toyne President of the Rotary Club emphasised this was the first of the season’s outings for Santa and the club will be at many supermarkets and precincts in the next few weeks. He thanked all those who gave so generously in Bolsover and said, “the money collected over Christmas will assist in many groups in our community. Rotary will be out and about and we all look forward to seeing you”.
