Bolsover Christmas Festival and LAntern Parade

After being rained off last year, the 2022 Lantern Parade was a huge success, and a fitting end to a wonderful day at the Christmas Festival.

Bolsover Rotary was again playing a major role in the Christmas Festival, hosting Santa on his wonderful sleigh, and keeping the community satisfied with Crêpes and Mulled Wine. The people of Bolsover again supported us magnificently, by donating generously to our Charity Trust Fund.

Very soon after the official opening, Santa had a queue of excited youngsters, ready to give their list of requirements for his Christmas Eve visit.

The picture shows Rotary President Graham Weighill welcoming Santa to the Festival.

After a busy day at the Christmas Festival, Santa had a short break and then took up the leading position in the Lantern Parade.

Children from local schools and other Groups, along with their parents, had been working hard, over the weeks before, to build a wonderful range of lanterns. The parade, which started from Bolsover Castle, was well supported with cheering crowds all along the route through the town.

Santa was kept very busy waving to his fans. If you would like to see more of Santa over the next few weeks, click here for details of where and when Bolsover Rotary will be hosting him.
