At our last speaker night Rtn Dianne Lane introduced a renowned guest speaker, Andy Timmons to the Bolsover Club. Andy is well known for his dislike of bad punctuation and his hobby of building model gliders and “tiny” boats, but he is also known for his understanding and practice of Hypnotherapy, the subject of his talk to the Club.
Andy gave an explanation of phobias experienced by many people; fears of heights, loose hairs, being without a mobile phone and even Arachibutyrophobia-fear of peanut butter being stuck to the roof of the mouth; all could be treated with the use of hypnosis to rectify a fear. In fact he went on to say that many illnesses could be successfully treated by hypnotherapy. He gave his assurance that an induced trance could be broken easily and therefore, people could not take actions against their will.
He kept members and their guests spellbound during his talk, and after an in depth explanation of the subject, Andy answered many questions from his audience and was overwhelmingly thanked by them for such an interesting evening.
