Bolsover members received awards at the Charter Anniversary dinner

President Graham Weighill presented long service awards to 6 members, and Past President Richard Drabble was made a Paul Harris Fellow with a certificate presented by District Governor Martyn Bye.

Since joining Bolsover Rotary Club 11 years ago in March 2012, Richard has served the Club and his local community well.

He was President of the Club in 2015-2016, during which time he was able to introduce and induct his future Mother-in-Law as a member – an achievement surely not matched by many Rotarians.

In 2014-15 he was Community and Vocational Officer, and in 2016-17 was Foundation Committee Chair.  He was Secretary of the Club for 3 years from 2017 to 2020.  In 2021 he joined the International Service Committee, and has worked with Past President Tom McConnell to support the Club’s International activities since then.

What is a Paul Harris Fellow

John Bowskill and Tom McConnell received awards for 40 years as members of Rotary. Mike Lawman, who also received a 40 years award, could not be present through ill health.

Geoff Davis (r) and Frank Hawkins (l) received 25 years service awards from President Graham. Rtn Keith Higginbottom (not pictured) also received a 25 years award.
