Once again, Santa kept his annual appointment with Bolsover’s Winter Festival and Lantern Parade on 2 December 2023.
After a very busy day, greeting the children (and some grown-ups) of Bolsover, Santa packed away his naughty and nice lists and all the requests, safely in his sleigh. Accompanied by his helpers from Bolsover Rotary he set off to lead the Lantern Parade.
The town centre was packed with people waiting to see the wonderful array of beautiful lanterns. Thanks to Junction Arts for all their hard work in organising this fabulous event.
Santa was kept very busy greeting his many fans, as the parade made its way through the town, from outside the castle and finishing at the Market Square (having gone the long way past the church!) It was a great way to start the season’s festivities.
It also marked the start of Santa’s travels around the area during the weeks running up to his big day. For details of where he will be with Bolsover Rotary, look here.
And don’t forget, he will be on his sleigh in Bolsover Market Place on 23rd December. He will arrive on a fire engine (emergencies permitting) at 10am.
