The members of the Rotary Club of Bolsover gathered outside on 30 June to welcome Paul Copper as President for the forthcoming Rotary year.
The socially-distanced meeting took place on the recently refurbished garden at the rear of the Parish Rooms in Bolsover. Members have been busy in recent months, with other members of the community, converting this patch of neglected, overgrown wasteland into a beautifully grassed garden, which will be enjoyed by the community as an addition to the well-used Parish Rooms.
President Paul thanked his predecessor Geoff Woodhead who handed over the badge of office. He then introduced his team for 2021-22
President Paul thanked the Club for electing him to the office of President, and encouraged everyone to look forward to happier times when we can resume our normal social and community activities face-to-face.
He said ; “we all hope that we can soon resume our regular meetings at Ringwood Hall and enjoy the fellowship that those meetings bring.”
He added: “we will welcome new members with open arms to carry on the good work and freindships that this Club has established in the 42 years since it was started.”
