Bolsover Rotary welcomes a new member

Bolsover Rotary was delighted to welcome a new member who was inducted at the meeting on Wednesday 12 November at Twin Oaks.

Rotarian Diana Emery was formally welcomed into the club by President Paula Weighill in the presence of all the members. The objects of Rotary were read to all in the room, but focussed on Diana who was starting out on her Rotary career. Rotary is a global force for good and Rtn. Diana was introduced to the family of Rotary International by President Paula and then presented with her membership certificate and badges.

In the short time she has been with us, Rtn. Diana has already shown us that she is a grafter and she has participated in some of our current projects. We hope to see her in our annual Rotary Tour for Santa starting with the Bolsover Lantern Parade on 29 November. Full details of all Santa’s appearances are listed HERE.

We were also pleased to welcome as our speaker for the evening the District Governor of Rotary District 1220, Rtn. Peter Hurst, who complimented Bolsover Rotary on being such an active club, and demonstrating the best characteristics of Rotary in Bolsover and around the area. The District includes almost 70 clubs located in South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, and Nottinghamshire.

If you would like to find out more about Rotary, or follow Diana’s example and join us, there is more information HERE or just contact us.

As a Rotarian, you’ll have the opportunity to:
✅ Support meaningful community projects
✅ Make a global impact through humanitarian efforts
✅ Develop leadership skills and expand your network
✅ Enjoy friendship and fellowship with people who care

We look forward to hearing from you.
