The Club organised another of its Charity fun race nights, the first for several years, at the Oxcroft Centre in Stanfree and the response was amazing.
The races followed the traditional manual system rather than video races.
The horses and track were designed and crafted by our late Founder-member Frank Clifford, who created a long lasting legacy of fun with these unique evenings.
The success of the evening can be measured by the fun had by everyone who participated, and by the amount of money raised. Early indications are that the evening generated over £1,000 for the Club’s charity account, which will be used to benefit good causes, mainly in and around the Bolsover area.
Our thanks go to the generous sponsors who provided prizes for the winners of each race:
- Infinity Events
- NAL Plant Ltd
- Twin Oaks Hotel
- Elliotts Butchers
- Banner Jones, Solicitors
- 4th Bolsover Scouts
- Direct Gas Ltd
- Mintdale Engineering Ltd
- Clay Targets
Thanks also to Morrisons Supermarket who donated hampers, and to The Pillar of Rock and individual Rotarians and their families who donated raffle prizes.
Finally we must acknowledge the generousity of the people who attended and dug so deeply into their pockets and purses to make sure that the event was such a financial success.
