World Water Day – 22 March 2026

Bolsover Rotary joined other local Rotary Clubs to mark World Water Day with colleagues from Aquabox.

World Water Day, held annually on March 22nd, is a United Nations observance focusing on the importance of freshwater and advocating for sustainable management of water resources. It raises awareness for the 2.1 billion people lacking access to safe water and supports Sustainable Development Goal 6: water and sanitation for all by 2030.

The Chesterfield event, arranged by Rotary Clubs from the area, was held at the Hollingwood Hub on Chesterfield Canal. Aquabox representatives were there demonstrating the power of the Aquabox system by purifying canal water.

Chesterfield Mayor, Councillor Barry Dyke, MP Toby Perkins, and Deputy Lord Lieutenant, Dr Helen Phillips were able to taste the clear and fresh result when they visited.
