The new District Governor paid a visit to the Bolsover Club and was warmly welcomed by President Margaret Scott on behalf of the members and guests present.
District Governor Dr Cheryle Berry MBE better known as Cheryle, is a longstanding friend of the Bolsover Club and was quickly made at home by her many friends. She gave an overview of Rotary activities within the district and congratulated Bolsover on its “amazing” contribution to the local, national and international scene.
Cheryle surprised her audience by announcing a forthcoming initiative that will involve on line First Aid training delivered via a free app. This training will provide all the skills needed to deal with and emergency situation where someone is taken suddenly ill plus follow up training very six months. Aiming high this initiative plans to have a qualified first aider on every street. She said more details would be available shortly before the launch of the scheme next month. All agreed to assist with driving this initiative forward and using the club’s resources to deliver this important service.
President Margaret Scott thanked Cheryle for her presentation and felt sure that the scheme outlined would be a success in saving lives.
