First signs of Spring bring out the Rotary crocuses

Rotary International’s effort to reduce the number of Polio cases to zero throughout the world is celebrated every year in late autumn. At this time Polio has been eradicated in 99.9% of the world.

That is also when our club plants 4000 purple crocus bulbs in different areas of our extended community… Bolsover, Inkersall, Staveley, Brimington, Calow.

So this time of the year you can see the fruits of The Bolsover Rotary efforts.

You can read the news item about the planting in November and more about End Polio Now here.

The flowers are coming out across our area with a beautiful display of Purple for Polio.

We are always open for suggestions where potential new locations would benefit from a carpet of Purple Crocus…. Let us know if you have a high impact location we could put on our potential planting map.
