Band Concert raises over £600 for local charities

After a break of 2 years, the Rotary Club of Bolsover and the Inner Wheel Club of Bolsover were pleased to welcome back their popular charity Band Concerts.

Once again the Shirebrook Miners Welfare band, led by their new Musical Director Geoff Wood, stepped up to the mark with a rousing programme of favourites as well as some new pieces. Although audience numbers had to be restricted because of the limitations of social distancing, everyone welcomed back some normality after the last couple of years.

Even more pleasing was the financial benefit to local charities which was generated. The surplus on over £600 was split equally between Inner Wheel, who have chosen to support Boza Youth, and Rotary local charities. The Rotary Club will use the money to bolster its Charity Trust Fund which to supports the Community Grant scheme and other donations.
