Rotary hears about the Air Ambulance

At the meeting on 26 August at Ringwood Hall Hotel, members and their guests were told all about the wonderful work done by the air ambulance, and how it saved the life of our guest speaker.

Keith Moseley was very passionate about the work of the Air Ambulance because of his own experience. He told us that this voluntary service saved his life, mainly due to the fact it can shorten travel time dramatically while travelling at up to 185mph.

The Air Ambulance Service operates the national Children’s Air Ambulance and the local air ambulance services for Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Their critical care paramedics, doctors and pilots attend an average of ten rescue missions a day and within minutes, they can be on the ground delivering lifesaving care at road traffic collisions, sports events, and industrial accidents or for medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, stroke or accidents in the home.

The air ambulance gives people the very best chance of survival and recovery. Their helicopter can fly at 185mph and carries the very latest lifesaving equipment.

Keith can be seen with President Graham, receiving a donation as thanks for a terrific presentation.
